About EMDR
EMDR, also known as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, is a comprehensive, evidence based, mind-body approach to healing.
In clinical trials, EMDR has proven to be effective at helping people to resolve traumatic memories. While it cannot change the past or take memories away, it can take the sting out of those memories. Clients can dislodge old, stuck, limiting self- beliefs, and move to a more adaptive frame of mind.
With EMDR, I've seen people eliminate nightmares, flashbacks, intrusive images, and panic attacks. I have also helped people to reduce performance anxiety, improve body image, excavate internalized oppression, (which sometimes shows up as self-hatred) and build confidence.
